This morning just before 8:30am WSAR had another hard hitting interview session with Mayor Bob Correia. He stated his position again that it looks nicer now, and that they can share the space. As if Miller Green were 100x the size it is. Since I was unable to get through because the phone rang off the hook, and no one answered, I will respond here. (also on the Herald News comment board - ed.)

1. The entire plot of land was dedicated to David Miller and all the boys of the southern part of the city who fought in WWII. What part of this do you not get? The entire plot of land.

2. What you didn't know was that the large boulder in the center of the square is the original Miller Monument. The boulder was placed there in the early 1950s in honor of David Miller by St. Patrick's Church. The McGovern stone was placed directly in front of, and overshadowing, what we can only assume you and the architect of the current landscaping thought was a part of the landscape.

3. Shame on the city for not making it look good. Also, I'm not sure you are being wholly truthful about the smaller Miller monument being directly under the sign. The sign was set back, and we are told the smaller monument did not move. The family quite clearly was at a dedication in 1991, they could not have dedicated the plaque under the sign at that time.

4. What you cannot see, for some reason, is that the entire square was dedicated Miller Green. You keep calling it a 'garden' which is in fact what it says on the plaque. If you go back to the June 27 1946 Order by the council you will clearly see that it was in fact the entire square named Miller Green. Furthermore, there is photographic evidence from 1975 in the Herald News that shows clearly a rededication of the square and the large boulder in the center. Saying that the plaque says 'garden' gets you no where, you are simply arguing faulty logic using semantics.

5. You and Councilor Casey colluded to rename the entire square. You did not rename a section of the square, you renamed the entire square. To rename a square in the name of someone else that was dedicated three times already to war heroes, is absurd. You have so far avoided the question of the renaming of the square. Quite likely because you realize it is wrong. The fact that you fail to see the reasoning here shows your lack of character, and lack of cognitive framework. Please see the error in your ways, and stop trying to deflect blame.
